Research department «Supersonic combustion»
Basic research activities
Control of supersonic flow around blunted axisymmetric bodies with
mass injection and heat release from fuel burning in the front and base
separation regions.
The specific features of changing gas dynamic structure and flow
parameters in the separation region, the characteristics of the force action
depending on the body geometry, external flow parameters, method of injection,
and physico-chemical characteristics of the injected mass.
The search for new approaches and methods for controlling the gas
dynamic structure of the flow and flow around various bodies.
Using laser radiation, experimental data on the effects of the
impact of a powerful optical pulse discharge on supersonic gas flow were
obtained
Experimental studies of the physical processes of combustion in
supersonic gas flow.
The study of flame structure taking into account the disturbing
factors. On the basis of phenomena observed, possibilities of flame control and
organization of effective combustion in chan- nels are studied.
