3rd International Workshop
"Thermal Plasma Torches and Technologies"
(25-31 August 1997, Novosibirsk, Academgorodok, Russia)

The 3rd International Workshop "Thermal Plasma Torches and Technologies"
is dedicated to

Prof. Dr.-Eng., Academician of Russian Ac. Sci. Mikhail F.Zhukov

a founder of the Former Soviet and now Russian School on Thermal Plasma Science and Technology due to his 80th anniversary. It is supposed that Workshop will takes place 25-31 August 1997 immediately after 13th International Symposium on Plasma Chemistry (Beijing, China). 3rd International Workshop continues the series of the international meetings since the 1st Symposium in Novosibirsk, Russia in 1988 and the second in Frunze (Bishkek), Kirgizstan in 1990.

The preliminary list of the invited participants of the Workshop including foreign participants and participants from the CIS will be fixed (about 60) and will be consisted of the leaders on thermal plasma science and technology from Universities, Scientific Centers and some Companies working in this area.


The 3rd International Workshop "Thermal Plasma Torches and Technologies" (TPTT'97) is to be held in Akademgorodok near Novosibirsk, Russia. The Workshop place at House of Scientists is a ten minutes to walk from hotel Zolotaya Dolina ("Golden Valley").

Weather and Travel Information:

"The Capital of Siberia" Novosibirsk is situated 3000škm to the East from Moscow on banks of the Ob' river. The time difference is +3 hours to Moscow. The weather in Siberia is rather warm at the end of August, but warm jacket may be of use. Please communicate us the flights schedule of your travel to arrange your meeting at the airport in Novosibirsk. Twice a week there is direct flight from Frankfurt to Novosibirsk by Lufthansa. There is direct flight from Beijing to Novosibirsk. The participants arriving at Novosibirsk airport will be provided with transportation to the hotel.

Excursions and Social Program

Visits to facilities of the Institutes of Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be organized. Excursions to Geological Museum, Opera House in Novosibirsk, sightseeing tours etc. are planned for participants of TPTT'97.

Registration fee:

The Organizing Committee will try to cover most part of the expenses connected with organization of the Workshop so that the registration fee will be not much then 300 US$ (for the foreign participants) and 60 US$ (for the participants from CIS). This registration fee will covers one copy of the Proceedings, welcome reception, banquet, excursions, social program and coffee-breaks.

Proceedings and Instruction for Papers:

The special Proceedings of the Workshop (special collection of invited papers) in English will be published and will be available at the beginning of the Workshop. Participants have to submit one copy of the extended papers (about 15 pages including tables, figures, photos etc., format A4, single space) prepared in Word6.0 for Windows (font Times New Roman is preferable). The possible form for the paper submission to include its in the Proceedings are the printed copy of original paper and its diskette or e-mail file. The paper should be one column single spaced printed using Times 12pt font on one side of standard A4 sheets (210x297 mm) and occupy the area 170x250 mm. The title in capital letters should be centered as well as of authors, affiliation, country following the title. Figures and tables are preferable to be inserted at the text. List all references is situated at the end of the paper. Photographs are undesirable.The working languages of the Workshop will be English and Russian. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
